A constant power dc supply is a dc source with a high variable voltage and a high variable current range but with a limited power. The best way to explain the functionality is by a picture.

In this example you see the power curve of a TTi CPX 400A dc power supply.
This unit does have a maximum voltage of 60V.
At that voltage the maximum current is 7 amps. So the maximum power is 420W.
At 42V the maximum current is 10 amps.
And at 20V the maximum current is 20 amps.
The big advantage of such a power supply is that one power supply can cover multiple applications. Where you normally need two or three supplies, or one supply with a lot of power (read high costs), you can now do it with just a single supply.
At this moment we do have 12 different models constant power sources from two companies.

We recommend you to contact us for helping you to select the right constant power dc power supply for your application. Most often we can also provide a demonstration model for evaluation.
If your application needs something special we encourage you to contact us as well. We do have several suppliers that can provide the unexpected.
